James has surgery

On Friday night, we went and met Marsha for a quick happy hour at this new soul club called Mo-Joes. It's located in north Austin in the Lincoln center strip mall. After two drinks, James started to feel bad, so we went home. an hour later, James complained his pain was worst than normal so we went to the south austin hospital (ST. David's). After waiting three hours in the ER, we found out he had appendicitis. we waited another six hours before his surgery, so while in surgery- I went home, showered and packed his clothes. He came home later that day, around 7pm and we came home and crashed. we slept for about ten hours, but he started to feel sore. The next morning, I went to get his pain meds and monitored him. Amber, Krisit and Joy came over....later both John Cole and Robert stopped by. Robert also stopped by the hospital to visit us too. I used my holiday day off to stay home with him on Monday (12/31/12).

Children and adults gunned down in Connecticut school massacre

• 20 children, six adults and the shooter are dead after shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, on Friday morning
• Three law enforcement officials say Adam Lanza, 20, was the shooter, and that he died apparently by his own hand
• Suspect's mother, Nancy Lanza, who was a teacher at the school, found dead in suspect’s home in Newtown, law enforcement source says
• Ryan Lanza, 24, older brother of Adam Lanza, questioned by police but not labeled a suspect, three law enforcement officials say

called out sick (first time this year)

crazy weekend- tailgating for the WV game, had a blast. went to the purple party later that night just to come home to Jesse and James preparing to have our own version of "robe night" with Jesse. finally went to bed around 5am! slept only four hours then had a guy name Bobby come over come over and tried Tina for the first time this weekend- crazy weekend!

Last swim of the summer

laid out and sunbathed while james played with his new iphone 5. He had problems since getting it on Friday (poor thing), so today we went to the Apple to get him a new phone. I've been playing with the panorama feature of the phone, this is my fave phone so far!

emergency room visit

this morning both James and I had to go to the emergency room; him for not feeling well and me for not getting over the cough and flem I had before going on my last business trip. I had the cough for four weeks...starting to feel better now, after taking the antibiotics they gave me today.

My fourth trip to the Philippines (Cebu)

Wow- this trip was better than the last one. traveled alone until Cedric and Mike arrived. I was so proud of myself being able to travel to the other side of the world by myself! The people in Cebu were extremely nice and welcoming. James still has a hard time with me traveling and being alone, but continues to show his support- that's love! Not sure what is next for me, but I do have several job options and have people looking out for me, which is finally refreshing. Would I go back if asked- absolutely....would it bother me if I got a job without travel- a little, but I would be ok with it.
