Christmas 2017

Mom and dad, along with Rachel and Anissa went to Disney in Florida for the holidays. Bill had Christmas with his family at his home and James had to work a couple of hours, so we did not go anywhere. After working, we went and saw Star Wars (The Last Jedi) then went to Threadgill's for our holiday dinner....they were basically the only of few places open. We finally went to bed around midnight...we enjoyed ourselves today.

SNOW in Austin!!!!

Last night while at Waterloo, it started snowing in Austin...many folks were posting photos and this morning, there was still snow on the ground- beautiful! The entire town was excited......this was a significant snow event for the city in the last ten years.

My last appointment is scheduled!

Had my follow up appointment today with Dr Doa, I walked in wearing sandals...she noticed but did not get mad. She mentioned that I can stop using the boot but use it when I need it now. I have one more (last) appointment on FEB 2, 2018....that will be the official end to this entire ordeal. At that point, this whole things would have taken almost six months of my life...but I am walking now, driving and getting out. I need to wear compression socks to help withe last of the swollen foot, but it will be managable. I also explained that physical therapy was not for me and that I learned what I needed, so I stop going..she was fine with that too.

Today, started walking without the boot....getting closer to finally bringing this whole foot carp thing to an end. Although I still have one more therapy sessions and appointment with Dr. Doa....I will still have to get used to walking more and more to help make my foot stronger.

Still have jobs!

Whew....until the next shoe drops- that is, what is my new job and when is the next round of layoffs...

Physical Therapy

First session was this morning...great doctor (Linda Su)...she mentioned I had been healing much faster than normal and then gave me exercises to do at home. Then went to work for a Thanksgiving potluck and to find out if we still had jobs- we do. Plus I'm driving now.....we are now officially days away from this whole foot thing being over. Granted- just able to walk on my own now...then the boot comes off...but, running may still have to wait until the first day of Spring 2018!

Whew- crazy feeling but going to take it slow...plus start physical therapy tomorrow- nervous.

Had another appointment this morning...Dr Doa said I should start walking and putting weight on the foot now. She also said I can start driving and start physical therapy now. Called and made my first appt for next Thursday....almost done with all this foot crap, whew. still rocking the boot....for another month.

Haircut in four months!

Had my hair cut for the first time since my accident...kept it long bc James loves it....then we hung out and had our Sunday Funday....posted this pic and we got over a 100 likes! lol

Hate having a broken foot

I know I am impossible to live with right now.....many mood swings.....depressed....frustrated....angry....stressed......not sure how much of this I can take. I have a follow up appt this Friday to get a cast. Two weeks later- my rods come out...hopefully my mood and outlook improves when that happens.

Mass Shooting in Las Vegas

So sad and preventable.....59 dead and over 527 people hurt....biggest mass shooting in US history....horrible culture we are leaving for our youth.....I blame everyone in Congress and Washington. Yes, you should be able to buy a gun, but not high power weapons....

Amber and Jessica visit

They flew in Thursday night and stayed until Sunday. They took me on Friday to go get my new knee scooter, went to have lunch then went to pecan street festival over the weekend. We closed their visit by having brunch at Moonshine...they had a great visit!

Texas Longhorn vs USC (game of a lifetime)

Not th same as in 2005/2006, but it was an amazing game. double OT, the defense played amazing and Sam (freshman quarterback) played like a superstar!
