Richard Hood
WOW- never thought I would ever speak to him again, but today it happened. I had reached out to his sister about two wks ago asking about him, gave my number. Today, he texted and we talked about his family....great to catch up. Strange he didn't ask anything specific about me, but he did ask about the family. I wished him a hbd (50th), which is what I really wanted to do...goal accomplished. Who knows if we will continue to talk, but I would be ok either way.

Trump President now...
Well, I went to work on the 20th of Jan and did not watch, listen, read or participated in any conversations regarding his Inauguration- too sad and too uncomfortable. Instead, I came home, packed and took off to San Antonio for a quick family visit- much needed. Still not knowing about having a job, James' therapy was hard for him (and me) this week and I needed some "escape". Heard of a lot of protests in Austin and today (Saturday)- watched and heard about many Women's marches around the world (and in ATX) over the new president. I will always have respect for the office, but doesn't mean I have to like the person in it. This time around is different bc he is not qualified and neither is any of his new cabinet members- the hearings were a joke and everyone knew it. Scared about our future as a country and what his administration will do.....uncertain times are coming- personal, local and nationally. However, had a great talk with Rachel, during my visit- love her more and more. I will definitely miss the Obamas........

Obama's farewell address
Amazing speech and I cried.....the internet was also crying and saddened by this historic event....the next president has "huge" shoes to fill....the world is watching!

NYE 2017
Went to Joe and Jeremy's for their NYE party, had a ball. We took Will G with us and he also had a good time. Left my pants there, so the next day I had to drive all the way back up north to get them, ugh.
