They flew in Thursday night and stayed until Sunday. They took me on Friday to go get my new knee scooter, went to have lunch then went to pecan street festival over the weekend. We closed their visit by having brunch at Moonshine...they had a great visit!

Texas Longhorn vs USC (game of a lifetime)

Not th same as in 2005/2006, but it was an amazing game. double OT, the defense played amazing and Sam (freshman quarterback) played like a superstar!

Texas wins- first time in the 2017 season

Surgery on Friday 9/8/17

Arrived on Friday around 11am, got registered quickly, free valet, got a comfy room. Got into surgery right on time around 1:30pm and then woke up in recovery around 3:30pm. Got home around 6pm then rested. stayed in bed literally all weekend...used a container to pee in, lol. Rachel and Anissa sent me a fruit basket- loved it! Everyone kept texting or calling to see how I was doing, very blessed. Really- no pain since having surgery, very weird....now, definitely staying off my foot for six weeks....determined to get back to "normal".

Specialist visit

Surgery is required.....UGH! Hopefully they can squeeze me in early next week. Screw that- I'm doing LOA for a week....gave the team the news today then logged out. James went and got my meds, took it with beer- hopefully it will relive my stress and disappointment...

our damage from Harvey

Hurricane Harvey (aftermath)

WOW-what a storm.....we were all nervous, scared, anxious and worried for five days straight. Amber did not get any rain, ugh. We got plenty of rain and strong winds.damage to our patio, fence and light flooding around the house, but James did a nice job getting the water away from the house- so nothing flooded, whew. Kristi and Melissa almost got flooded out...water came into their garage but then water lowered...their street became a river. I kept in contact with them the entire time until they felt the worst had passed. I love Houston and prayed and cried over the images coming out of the city. I donated for the relief fund and especially for the pets....heartbreaking stories coming out of Houston. The city will never be the same nor I because of this storm. Historic flooding in Texas, we got 15 inches and Houston got over 51 inches- the most in US history. Additionally, the towns heading into Houston from Austin all got flooded too....no way in or out of Houston during this time. The storm has since moved out of Texas, after being here five to 7 days.....everyone is fine now.
