Turkey Trot Race

Well, I fell during the race but only had a bruised knee and elbow....broke the screen to my phone, ugh. A bit cold but got warmer as the day went on. I came in 2600 place out of 25,000- finished in 50 mins too, whew. Then raced home to pick up James then drove to san antonio for Thanksgiving with the folks...we were back home by 3:30pm....long day.

Julie and Isabella's visit

They came from Waco and visited for the day....we took them to Trudy's for a quick snack, then south congress for some shopping. James bought a couple of things for Izzy, he was excited to be able to buy her things. Then took them to the Hope gallery, which they both loved. Finally, we had dinner at La Posada- at their request since they always see us checking in there on FB.

Election 2016

What to say and where to start.....I voted on the very first day of early voting- maybe the sixth person in line! Stayed up the night of the election to watch the win....unfortunately, it was not the win I thought I would witness (none of us did). This was not only a very unprofessional, nasty and unusual election process - side note- hope we never see something like this process again. As a country, we cannot afford it. Went to bed around 11pm ct, when it appeared obvious Trump might win. According to the news report, Trump accepted the win around 2am ct. The next day- everyone in the world was talking about the election. Spoke to both mom and dad for their opinion...gladly, they were both sympathetic and concerned over the election. James is taking harder than I thought, he is concerned Trump may repeal equal rights and void our marriage. More to come.....
In talking with Dad, he mentioned Luke had asked his dad if he needed to be shipped back to Mexico, which I thought was interesting, charming and concerning. He also said Mia would have to be shipped back to Baltimore, too cute but sad. A 7 yr old should not be worried about government elections- just saying. Anissa voted in her first election- so proud!

What a day....

Left work early today around 12pm (noon) drove to Uvalde for Gibby's funeral....drove for 3 hours, nice drive and went alone. Met up with Meme and Tio Gilbert and hung out with them. Met Gibby's kids and was shocked how young they looked but in fact, they are 22 yrs, 18yrs and 17 yrs old- crazy. Stayed for two hours then drove back...another 3 hour drive, got home right at 8pm, whew-tired.

Halloween

Left work early (now that James is working a ten hour shift schedule now- off on Mondays).  Wasn't feeling it at work, but now I know why.....Gibby passed away today. Earlier I walked and ran 10 miles today and after..James and I went for drinks and an early dinner. We came home and went to bed- no costumes, no candy, not feeling it this year. Now, found out his service is tomorrow and Thursday...might go Thursday after I ask for the day.
