Drove down Saturday morning and spent the day visiting some parks and then went to the museum- loved every minute of it. Then went with the family to visit Meme for his birthday dinner with his family. Came back Sunday after having lunch with Wyll....Amber and James were grilling then we watched the Oscars.
James has a rough session but met with Dr Holcomb and he said he doesn't get involve with company leave issues, however, would be an advocate for him to get his social security disability approved. James has to follow up with our HR and find out if he will continue to get paid since this last time, he did not. He contacted David to get his vacation entered for the next 28 days so he can continue to get atleast two more checks....more to come, fingers crossed.
Today, the verdict was guilty - this was a day of reckoning for America and racial injustice.

Jaime finally decided to extend his leave to September and will still get paid. Luckily, that is enough time to find out if he gets approved for his disability. He also offered to go back to Stone Oaks, so I will encourage him to do so as soon as he can.....
Jaime reached out to David about three times this Dmorning around 10:00 am CT, but he did not pick up. Around 11am, David called back and he and Jaime spoke about next best steps and how Jaime should not retire but instead maximize all the resources and options the company has to offer. For example, David suggested extending his disability leave to the full amount allotted, which is through Sept 2021. Jaime also explained he was going to start working with a law firm to help him use AT&T, which David explained he should not do and also asked if he had communicated his intent to HR, whom Jaime spoke to earlier. David explained he could not sue AT&T because he would need to go through arbitration, as agreed upon when he first got hired and HR also advised him of the same. Their call concluded around 11:30am in which Jaime walked away with saying, “David doesn’t want me to retire, but use all possible resources, for now”. 30 minutes later, David called Jaime back they continued to discuss what Jaime’s plans were and again, David advised him not to retire, not sue the company and to use this time to take a break from AT&T. At 12:20pm, I asked Jaime to hang up the call with David so I could talk to him about this situation. I explained to Jaime that he should no longer have any further phone calls with David, but instead via email or text bc he needs to be careful and start documenting everything he shares with David and HR. I also explained, that AT&T is probably already working on building a case against him to ensure he gets nothing and will probably be terminated. Jaime said David has a way of reminding him of his father and is able to convince him of changing his outlook and plans. I also explained to Jaime that David has already shown not to be trusted and that he and HR are probably scared should he pursue the arbitration tactic because it involves David, which is the reason he is talking Jaime out of pursuing it. I clarified that earlier when both Amber and I suggested to Jaime he should start documenting everything he does (dates/times/conversations/topics/names/verbatim statements) we were only trying to help him protect himself. Earlier when we mentioned it to Jaime, he started to shut down and asked us to stop “pushing him” into doing things and to let him handle things himself. I also explained that now since Jaime reached out to him, David feels he can reach back out to Jaime whenever he wants. I advised against this because David has his own self-interest to be concerned about, as well as, AT&T’s. Jaime also offered to go back to Stone Oaks to do additional therapy and I stated it might be a good idea and might help his case in getting his disability approved. He said he would start working on getting back into the program. My conversation with Jaime ended at 12:37pm.
Registered the product online and also went to home depot bc it did not come with a remote....made the home depot guy open up another box for a remote, but that box didn't have one either. So, plan to contact Toshiba to see about having them ship us one.....
Spoke to him about what I saw and why he does it...also spoke to mom and eased her fears about this situation. I advised her she could tell dad about it and she said "not at this time". She wants to talk to him but I said let me do it first then I will check with him to see if he wants to share with her. I feel I've been in a fog seen the incident, been sleeping about 12 hours each night, but starting to feel better and a bit more clearer a out the situation. Last night, came up with a mantra for myself:

I need to start taking care of myself, but still scared and nervous over what comes next.....
She bought me a flight to McAllen so Monday morning I flew out of Austin and then flew to Dallas....waited an hour then flew to McAllen in the smallest plane I've ever been in, ugh.....
Once I arrived, we drove back to her house, I got in the truck and we drove back in just over four hours. We then went out to have dinner because she had hired movers to come Tuesday morning to help unload her truck.
While I was writing this, Jaime was burning himself and I was shocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked about his therapy helping with it and he ignored my questions saying he has a lot of anxiety and its better than cutting himself.......I am beyond sad and shocked.
started to go back to townlake...plenty of folks are starting to get out too- due to folks getting tired of being kept home, now folks are getting vaccinated, new cases are down, low deaths and hospitalization, etc....but more and more folks are wearing their masks and social distance. This weekend is our last weekend to ourselves because Amber move in this Monday.....flying out tomorrow morning to help move her back to Austin.
Plus, hung out with Brad during my walk today and we had a long talk....good to reconnect again after this past year.
Arrived around 1:30 for a 2pm appointment...it was kinda chaotic but I was n't sure if they were setting up and just unorganized...they started at 2pm ct and I was the 10th person in line...by 2:10, I was getting th shot (Moderna)......then went on a 5.5 mile walk at townlake- in an honor to walk for my mom, those who died, frontliners, essential workers and etc.....
Also, stopped by the recent fire at the tower by townlake- an Austin Iconic place!
Paid $595 to Cem-Free pest control to set traps and seal up the hole identified by the person from the company. They plan to set traps, check for the following days before sealing up the hole....smh
Now, spoke to Amber and she plans to move in this Friday...this should be interesting.
We went to mom and dad's and hung out with the family and it was the first time in over a year we were all together and able to hug one another. I talked to dad outside for a while and James talked to mom inside. Then Bill and his family arrived then Rachel and Herb arrived. Anissa came downstairs once everyone arrived. we all talked, ate and laughed together- it's been a long time since we have been able to do that without masks. The entire family has been vaccinated except James and I- but the family wanted us there, so we went and it was good for our souls......I think, everyone's soul.
Noticed Luke's voice changing and how tall he has grown in the past year....then talked to Mia about her basketball and how she is getting recruited with scholarships, amazing kids.
Bill grilled and made us some amazing food to eat- it was a memorable family event.
Feel sad for my dad...his baby brother passed away while we were visiting for Easter...he chose not to tell anyone until we all left for the day. He passed away from cancer and cyriosis of the liver.
Finally- the Austin Health Dept called me on Friday and scheduled me for this coming Tuesday...I tried to schedule Jaime but they could not schedule him nor tell me if he would be called soon.....
She kept throwing up and I got worried so I called the vet after-hours line.....Jaime gave her some meds and she is now resting....it was scary but I think she will be ok, for now.
Wyll called and told me George got a DWI (his fourth) and is worried about what will happen next...me too.
Tomorrow, Jaime and I are going to the family's house for Easter, this will be the first time Jaime is going to san antonio in over a year, so we will see how this goes. In the last year, I've only seen the folks twice, my sister twice, Anissa twice and Bill and his family once- I miss everyone!
Saw the two games for the final four...Baylor wins their game, but I stayed to see the Gonzaga vs UCLA game and THAT GAME WAS THE GAME OF THE CENTURY!!!!!!
Gonzaga won in overtime and at the last second with a three point shot from half court, are you kidding me?!?! - an amazing game that will be remembered for years to come....
Now, the championship game is Monday, can't wait.
